Workshop's Topic: Critics of European Union
The participants will represent different political groups/orientations within the European Parliament, Bulgarians playing as Turks; Turks playing as Bulgarians although these "national identities" may not mean anything or they may if necessary. The plot is a preliminary summoning with the member countries plus yet-to-be member countries to draft for the future orientation of the EU.
1st Working Group
Liberal/Social Critic of European Union; reforming EU into a more liberal agenda and a Europe based on liberal values which requires a radical transformation of the "Brussels mentality" (liberal versus social democrats)
2nd Working Group
Conservative Critic of EU; "Europe of People" agenda + Fortress Europe (conservatives) versus "the European citizenship and "one Europe" promoters + a liberal and open Europe position (liberals)
3rd Working Group
Social Democratic Critic of EU; EU should be a "Social Europe" and to be transformed into a "European-wide social- contracts" (Socialist-Greens versus conservatives).
